I'm an aspiring author who creates fictional characters and speculative worlds based on my experience as an Indigenous person living with a physical disability.

I'm currently querying my first manuscript called PAINTAKERS. It's a YA science fiction novel that features a chronically ill teen who wears leg braces like me. I pitched this story as part of an audition for America's Next Great Author, and I'm honored (and super excited!) to have been selected as a semifinalist for their 2022 pilot episode.

My first PB manuscript, THE SONG IN TISHMAL'S HEART, was a recipient of the 2024 Walter Dean Myers Grant. This story incorporates my Native language, and it centers around a girl who gains the courage to play her Native American flute for her third-grade Show&Tell.

In May of 2020, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Strategic Communications from Pennsylvania State University. I'm eager to apply my marketing degree, learn about the publishing industry, and engage with other book lovers. So far, I've had the honor of attending bookish events for BookSparks and contributing to Indigenous Reads Rising.

During my free time, I enjoy working with various local nonprofits. This has been a passion of mine since 2006. After I endured a life-altering spinal cord surgery in middle school, my support team inspired me to focus on community outreach. In 2012-2013, I had the opportunity to act as a spokesperson for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
